Two tons of paper collected during October Shred Day
A total of 4,000 pounds, or 2 tons, of paper material was collected from K‑State departments Oct. 14 for shredding and secure disposal.
The Manhattan campus collected 3,400 pounds of paper documents. The Salina campus collected 600 pounds, according to Tony Hoover, computer information specialist at Salina.
The university conducts Shred Day every October during National Cyber Security Awareness Month to properly dispose of paper containing sensitive information and also to raise awareness of the need to protect information on paper.
