Howard Erickson: Why I Support the All-University Campaign

Submitted by Susan Wolf Berhow

All-University Campaign co-chair Howard Erickson

As an alumnus of K-State for more than 50 years and a faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine for more than 30 years, Howard Erickson, professor emeritus of veterinary medicine physiology and history , bleeds purple and is a strong advocate for many of the programs at K-State.

“I support these programs because I believe, as members of the faculty and staff at K-State, we know the needs of this university, such as scholarships for students, new equipment for faculty and student laboratories, support for guest speakers, and start-up funds for new faculty. The All-University Campaign increases the awareness in the K-State community about the importance of private gifts to supplement state funds and other sources of revenue to elevate K-State to be one of the top 50 research universities in the United States. I believe the contributions by faculty and staff to the All-University Campaign, whether large or small, send a very important message to those who have a vested interest in K-State, such as alumni, friends and legislators.”

Erickson’s support of the campaign isn't limited to giving. He also serves as co-chair of the campaign.

It’s not too late to make a difference at K-State! Counting for the 2011 All-University Campaign for K-State ends Friday.
