This week, more than 750 4-H youth and adults from 94 Kansas counties will be on campus as part of K-State Research and Extension's 4-H youth development program. These youth represent approximately 20,000 4-H members who choose to pursue their personal development through extension offices in every county.

4-H Discovery Days is a college life experience designed to help youth discover degree programs, future career directions, and personal growth and interest areas. While they're on campus, they will also collect money and participate in a giant food fight to raise awareness of hunger and nutrition issues around the world, they will pose for a photo on the lawn in front of Anderson Hall in blue and green shirts to create a human pixel image of the Earth.

Each January campus departments and community volunteers are invited to submit workshop proposals to facilitate connections with these highly motivated youth. You can see how 4-H Discovery Days workshops impact youth by investing 79 seconds in watching this video.
