The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, or APLU, recently honored public university faculty with national and regional teaching awards recognizing excellence in agricultural sciences teaching and student engagement. Among the recipients of the 2024 Excellence in College and University Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences was Elizabeth Yeager, associate professor and director of undergraduate programs in the department of agricultural economics.
In recognition of her scholarship, exemplary pedagogy and dedication to instruction, Yeager received a stipend of $2,000 to be used for improving teaching at her university.
"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year's recipients of the Excellence in College and University Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences," said Wendy Fink, executive director of the academic programs section at APLU. "Their unwavering commitment to education and mentorship not only shapes the future of their students, but also sets a powerful example for their peers, fostering a community of continuous learning and excellence."
Since the inception of this prestigious award program in 2008, Kansas State University ranks second among all institutions for the number of national and regional award recipients.
