Leadership and Service Programs hosted through the Staley School of Leadership are ways for students, faculty staff, and our community to develop leadership and professional skills, as well as give back to the communities we are all part of.

'Cats Connect

  • Small groups of Wildcats come together for six, one-hour meetings to work through a deck of question and answer cards. Build community, practice listening, and grow your understanding for others. Participate or facilitate the group. Learn more about 'Cats Connect

Food Security Scholars

  • Undergraduate and graduate students from all majors are invited to apply for a cohort each year. Students challenge ideas around food security and work with local partners to better understand our food systems. Learn more about Food Security Scholars

James R. Coffman Leadership Institute

  • A multi-day, annual leadership development workshop series for K-State faculty and staff. Build relationships, grow your leadership capacity, and improve campus relations. Learn more about the Coffman Institute

K-State Strengths

  • K-State is a CliftonStrengths campus. Students can learn their Top Five Strengths, then dive deeper by signing up for a Peer Coaching Session. Workshops, trainings, and more also provided universitywide to support campus groups. Learn more about K-State Strengths

LEAD 212 Class Leaders

  • Class Leaders help teach LEAD 212: Introduction to Leadership Concepts, through Learning Communties - small breakout groups of students in the course. These paid positions have been an essential part of the learning experience for leadership studies students for more than 25 years. Learn more about LEAD 212 Class Leaders

  • K-State students from all areas of study travel to Midwest communities or international communities to serve with our trusted partners for an immersive, transformational experience. Trips take place during Spring Break, Winter Break, and summer. Learn more about Service Teams

  • Students declared in any of the Staley School's leadership studies academic programs are invited to apply for Ambassadors. Ambassadors enjoy a community of peers while working on personal and professional development skills, as well as support the School through events and recruitment.
