Kansas Board of Regents April meeting university updates

Introductions and reports
In the report from the chair, Regent Cheryl Harrison-Lee offered condolences to the family of former K-State President Jon Wefald and held a moment of silence to honor Wefald's memory. She praised Wefald's work and successes as the second-longest-serving president in K-State's history. Harrison-Lee also congratulated K-State for executing the Regents' Pillar 3 Economic Prosperity Plan and for the university's work helping to attract the planned $650 million Scorpion Biological Services Inc. biomanufacturing facility to the Manhattan area.
Consent agenda
The Regents approved K-State's request to offer a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in advertising and public relations beginning summer 2022 as well as K-State's request to offer a Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity beginning fall 2022.
K-State also received approval to amend the fiscal year 2023 capital improvement project plan to renovate and modernize space utilized by the GE Johnson Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science.
