Explore and learn a new language, culture from native speakers

Submitted by Lizbeth Alcantara

Every spring and fall semester, International Student and Scholar Services sponsors several eight-week-long, noncredit classes known together as the Basic Language Training program.

Ten language classes will be offered this spring 2020 semester: Arabic, Cantonese, Chinese, Chinese — Advanced, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Sindhi, Spanish, and Spanish — Advanced. The classes will meet for one hour, twice a week for eight weeks, and will be taught by international students who can provide insight into the culture and history of their home countries. See a schedule of classes and register online form at k-state.edu/isss/programs-events/blt/index.html.

Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. Feb. 3 and a payment of $35 submitted before 5 p.m. on Feb. 7. Only cash or check — made payable to ISSS — are accepted. If you miss the registration deadline and are still interested in taking the course, please Liz Alcantara at lizbeth@k-state.edu before the start of classes.

Classes begin Feb. 10 and end April 10. Classes will not be in session during spring break. For more questions, contact lizbeth@k-state.edu or call the ISSS office at 785-532-6448.
