K-Staters selected for 2020 Case Study Investigation program

Submitted by Thom Jackson

The Landscape Architecture Foundation has selected 10 faculty research fellows and 10 high-performing landscape projects for its 2020 Case Study Investigation program. Among those selected include Lee R. Skabelund, K-State Case Study Investigation research fellow and associate professor of landscape architecture and regional & community planning; Lekhon Alam, doctoral student in environmental design and research assistant; and the K-State Memorial Stadium Green Roof project by Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company, Manhattan.

The program kicks off in February and runs through early August.

Now in its 10th year, the Case Study Investigation program is a research collaboration and training program for faculty, students and practitioners. The foundation funds the research teams to document the environmental, social and economic impacts of exemplary, high-performing landscape projects. The resulting Case Study Briefs are published in the foundation's Landscape Performance Series database of more than 150 projects.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. Established in 1966, the foundation invests in research, scholarships and leadership initiatives to increase our collective capacity to achieve sustainability and cultivate the next generation of design leaders.
