Adulting 101: Illness Care At Home

Submitted by Megan Katt

As part of the Adulting 101 series, the WellCAT Ambassadors at Lafene Health Center will offer Illness Care At Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Purple Conference Room at Lafene Health Center.

This workshop will be presented by Abby King, registered nurse and clinic coordinator at Lafene Health Center, and Eugene DeDonder, pharmacist and director of pharmacy at Lafene Health Center.

During this workshop, participants will explore the criteria for making the decision to visit a clinic for an illness and learn about preventing illness, flu symptoms and treatment, and over-the-counter medication options for various illnesses.

Attendees will receive a free box of throat lozenges and will be eligible to win a free T-shirt. Participants who attend six or more of the Adulting 101 workshops will be entered into a drawing for one of two free massages at Lafene Health Center or one of two gift certificates for one free one-hour lane rental — up to six people — at Axe to Grind.

For more information, email wellcat@k-state.edu or call 785-532-5226.
