Interdisciplinary Applied and Basic Geospatial Research

The Geographic Information Systems Spatial Analysis Laboratory (GISSAL) is a university core facility established in 1990 as an interdisciplinary center supporting spatial research, education, and outreach activities at Kansas State University. We are an affiliate of the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics and look forward to helping launch the university's next generation Agricultural and Environmental Analytics Consulting Laboratory as part of the Agricultural Innovation Initiative at Kansas State University.

Since 2000, GISSAL researchers have been principal or co-principal investigators on externally-funded research projects totaling more than $18 million and have collaborated with over 40 academic departments, research units, and government agencies across the nation and world. GISSAL also offers a suite of contract services to support research and outreach efforts for on- and off-campus clients.
