Instructors for the Young Writers' Workshop (2026)
We are seeking three instructors for the 2026 Young Writers' Workshop summer program. Requirements: Work full-time with middle-school-aged students, 8:00am-5:00pm, June 8-12, and part-time with the program director one week earlier (June 1-5) to set up the program and two days after (June 15-16) for assessment of the program. Duties include assisting with preparation for each workshop day, generating and leading writing activities, lesson planning, and program assessment. Honorarium: $1,500. Current K-State graduate students and term instructors in English or related programs encouraged to apply; previous teaching experience and graduate student status preferred. Applicants with experience with middle-school students and with Kansas State University will be given priority.

Program Assistant for the Young Writers' Workshop (2026)
We are seeking a program assistant for the 2026 Young Writers' Workshop summer program, to be held in person, unless health restrictions require a virtual modality. Requirements: Duties include assisting with program set-up, communicating with parents and visiting authors, writing social media posts, capturing program activities, and collecting and organizing program assessment data. Part-time for the weeks of June 1-5 and June 15-19, full-time for the week of June 8-12. Honorarium: $1,500. Applicants should have strong communication, multimedia, and computer skills. Undergraduates and graduate students at Kansas State in English or related fields are eligible to apply; work experience may be used for ENGL 495 or ENGL 797 internship credit.
