·    Working dinner of reception type. Participants can freely walk around to talk to others, asking more questions, sharing what they have learned, etc.

·    Continental breakfast. Participants can have more interactions with each other.

 

8:00 – 10:30

·    Dr. Cao and Dr. Hazelrigg describe procedures for a typical CAREER proposal panel meeting

·    Dividing into 3 groups for mock panel review, every panel will be led by an NSF program director.  (Several proposals have been sent to workshop participants three weeks before the workshop.)

·    Present and discuss the original reviewers’ comments and ratings on these proposals

 

10:30 – 11:00

·    Break

 

11:00 – 12:00

·    In small groups of 4-5 people, brainstorm the characteristics of successful CAREER proposals

·    As one big group, summarize these characteristics

·    Workshop evaluations
