CARE recognizes the importance of mental health and well-being of survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence and abuse. The Healing Fund exists to alleviate the financial burden of the impacts of trauma, allowing students to focus on their safety, wellbeing, and academic success.

The Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) has sponsored the CARE office with funds to establish a Healing Fund that provides financial assistance to Kansas State students and staff members. Access to the Healing Fund is contingent upon approval of VOCA funding and is subject to change. The CARE Healing Fund is available to only:

  • Students enrolled in classes
  • K-State employees

Students, staff, and faculty will receive funding towards the cost of therapy/mental health services based on factors like financial need and insurance. You must meet with a CARE advocate in person or remotely prior to accessing the CARE Healing Fund. The letter is only valid if signed by the Director or an advocate.

Funding is paid directly to service providers and is not subject to reimbursement. CARE will not be billed for cancelled or missed sessions or late fees. Sessions do not need to be used consecutively.
