Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment courses are taught by K-State faculty on one of our campuses or online. Unlike concurrent enrollment, credit for dual credit courses results in college credit, but high school credit is not guaranteed. Talk to your high school counselor for more information about dual credit enrollment to receive college and high school credit.

Cost

Pre-college students take courses at a reduced rate. Books and course fees are included.

Eligibility

  • Students must have a 2.75 cumulative high school G.P.A. and receive permission from a parent/guardian and their high school guidance counselor.
  • Students can enroll in 100/200 level courses as long as they meet the prerequisites (if any). Math courses do have additional requirements.
  • Students wanting to enroll in 300/400 level courses will need special permission.
  • Students are limited to 8 credit hours per semester unless special permission is given.

Application and Enrollment

Students should first talk to their high school counselor about their interest in concurrent enrollment and to learn what courses are offered. Once that is completed, they should complete the FREE Pre-College Application for admission.

Courses

Pre-College students can enroll in any courses in which they meet the pre-requisites.

The list below shows the recommended courses that are part of the K-State Core and have been identified on the KBOR Systemwide Transfer list. These are not the only courses a pre-college student can take. For more information on recommended coursework, students should consult with their K-State academic advisor, who will be assigned upon admittance to K-State.
