How to Change Your Major

• Your first step is talk with your academic advisor. Your advisor can provide valuable information to aid in your decision. Some majors have specific GPA requirements or required pre-requisite classes you must fulfill before you can officially change your major.
• Once you are ready to change, follow the Office of the Registrar's Guidelines for Changing Majors.

Plan Your Coursework

• Run a "What If?" DARS report to find out how many credit hours you would need to complete if you changed your major.
• Meet with an advisor for your new major to create a long-range academic plan and learn more about your potential graduation timeline
• Are you wondering how changing your major will affect your financial aid? Consider visiting the Office of Student Financial Assistance for information about options to fund your education.

Apply for Jobs/Internships

• Plan out how you want to get experience in your career field of choice. Meet with a peer Career Specialist to search and apply for part-time jobs, full-time jobs, and internships through your Handshake account.
• Consider additional ways to gain experience outside of work, including clubs and organizations, undergraduate research, education abroad, volunteering, and more.
