From an article published in K-State Collegian on

Friday,February 8,2008.

Katrina M. Lewis, Professor in Interior Architecture and Product Design (College of Architecture, Planning and Design) spent seven weeks at Kabul University. While there, she mentored two second-year courses within the Faculty of Engineering: Architectural Design Studio 1 and Sketching. Professor Lewis was in Kabul as part of the World Bank funded Kansas State University-Kabul University Partnership (2007-2010).

This picture was taken in Panshijr of Parwan Province, Afghanistan, next to a Russian tank; left to right: Debra Frey, Katrina Lewis, and Mohammad Faqir. Panshijr, which is North of Kabul, was the only province that did not fall to the Russians or Taliban during the thirty years of Afghan hostilities.
