Empty
Bowls says,
“Thank
you, Manhattan!”
You helped raise $2,300 to support local hunger fighting
organizations. The recipients of the
proceeds are: Second Helping, Happy Kitchen, and Ogden Friendship House who
will receive $767.00 each.
The response to the Empty Bowls Event was fantastic
and very much appreciated.!
What is
Empty Bowls?
It is a national movement to help the hungry and
nurture the arts. It was brought to our
community by the K-State Women’s Center & the Campaign for Nonviolence.
The KSU Art Department & Potter’s Guild,
GSOVA-Graduate Students of Visual Arts
Manhattan High School Ceramic Students, and
those citizens who participated in the Bowl-A-Thon
at
Manhattan Arts Center and
the individuals who made bowls on their own time
for producing the bowls for the event to arise.
Also, many thanks to Bluestem Bistro and Edesia for displaying the
bowls and donating 100% of the profit directly to Empty Bowls, and to Texas
Star Café, Four Olives Wine Bar, and Edesia for their generosity
in providing the serving of the soup.
