The deadline to apply for the Fall 2009 semester has already passed. You are encouraged to apply for the Fall 2010 semester. All application materials must be received in the Office of Admissions by February 1, 2010.

The next available semester for all other majors is Spring 2010. The application deadline is October 1, 2009.

You will be able to find all of the materials you need to apply for Undergraduate Admission on our website at: http://www.k-state.edu/admit/intlstudent.html

The following is a list of the materials you will need to include when you apply.

  2. An $80 non-refundable application fee must be included with the application.

Please note, according to university policy, the Office of Admissions will not be able to begin processing your application until the application fee has been paid.

  3. Language Proficiency for Undergraduate Admission

  4. Many universities have rigid TOEFL requirements for admission. However, Kansas State University wants to make the admission process for you as easy as possible.

If you meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may admit you with no proof of English proficiency (no TOEFL). Once you arrive, you will be required to take the English Proficiency Test (EPT). The results of the English Proficiency Test (EPT) will determine if you have to study English, either full-time or part-time, or if you are ready to begin full-time university classes. This is to ensure that you have the necessary English skills to be successful in your career at K-State.
Waiver requirements for the English Proficiency Test (EPT):

    1.  Transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed BOTH:

        a.  24 credit hours at an accredited US institution

        b.  with English Composition I and II with grades of C or better

    2.  All other new undergraduates may submit one of the following:

        a. iBT (Internet Based TOEFL)  - each part score must be a minimum
of 21 or higher IELTS – each part score must be a minimum of 6.5 or higher

        b. ACT English subscore of 23

        c. SAT verbal scores of 530

        d. Four years in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in
    all college preparatory courses

    3. Scores must be submitted two working days (Monday through Friday) before the first day of class in order to waive English Proficiency Testing or English classes for that semester.  Scores submitted after that date will receive a waiver from English classes for the following semester.

  5. Official transcripts, translated into English if necessary.

  6. A completed Affidavit of Financial Support. Kansas State University requires a proper and current affidavit of support from your sponsor stating that he or she will provide $34,005 (this amount is an estimate figure that includes all tuition/fees, room/board, books, supplies, etc.) for each year of study at Kansas State University and a statement of verification from the sponsor's financial establishment. The form required by Kansas State University for this purpose is available at: http://www.ksu.edu/admit/aff_supp.pdf

We hope this will get you started on your application to K-State. Please email our office know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for your interest in K-State. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
