SHAPE is now recruiting for Fall '09! Complete an application now!
New classes begin each semester and are worth three university general education (UGE) credits. In addition to becoming a peer educator, members that complete the training also become certified American Red Cross Peer Educators.
EDCEP 311—Guidance for the Paraprofessional meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30—3:45 PM
This course develops the peer educator’s knowledge of human sexuality, sexual abstinence, sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV/AIDS), risky behaviors, alcohol and other drug use, violence and sexual assault. Because the success for students participating in this program requires learning then presenting to peers, there is a two semester commitment required of students enrolled in the course. Note: Students will only enroll in the first semester, but will be required to attend class during their second semester to complete course requirements.
Candidates will be required to complete the application process.
