Before you begin your application for the scholarship(s) you have selected, please keep the following things in mind:

What to expect:

  • Only admitted freshmen students for fall 2015 are eligible to apply
  • K-State eID is required
  • 30-60 minutes average completion time
  • Application is saveable

What you will be asked:

  • Personal information
  • Education
  • Parent's education
  • College courses you have taken

Presidential

  • 3 essay questions
  • 1 page resume (maximum 1 page)

Kassebaum

  • 3 essay questions
  • 1 page resume (maximum 1 page)

Civic Leadership

  • 5 essay questions
  • 1 page resume (maximum 1 page)
  • Community Service log
  • 2 letters of recommendation that can speak to the project and community service you wrote about in your application.
    *Once you submit the application, an email is sent to the people you listed as recommenders. The email includes instructions for uploading a letter on your behalf.
    Letters and the supplemental application are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014.

Edgerley-Franklin

  • 1 page resume (maximum 1 page)
  • Personal statement of goals (2-3 pages). Include the following:
    • Academic Accomplishments
    • Academic goals and why you want to pursue them
    • Skills you have and skills you hope to acquire
    • Why you are interested in working on research
    • Your cultural background, interactions, and its importance
    • Greatest challenges you see to the urban community and how they have been impacted or are impacting the community
  • 1 letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.
    *Once you submit the application, an email is sent to the person you listed as a recommender. The email includes instructions for uploading a letter on your behalf.
    The letter and application are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Deadlines
November 1
Priority deadline for incoming freshmen to submit the K-State scholarship application.
February 1
Priority deadline for transfer and current students to submit the K-State scholarship application.
March 1
Priority deadline to apply for federal student aid. Submit the FAFSA (school code 001928).
Reminders
November
Residence hall assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete the residence hall application and contract if you plan to live on campus.
April
Admitted students attending K-State in the fall should sign up for orientation and enrollment in the spring.
