Welcome to DearNeighbors: A Course on Helping. In this “course,” you and I will have a conversation. As I wrote this material, I imagined sitting across from you at your kitchen table. Maybe we are having coffee together. This is an informal experience. You are not sitting at a desk in a classroom. No lectures here. Just two people who could be friends visiting about the idea of helping. I have knowledge, experience (and what I like to think of as insight) to share with you.

As I share this information with you, my goal is to challenge you to become a better person, a more effective helper with someone who is experiencing the emotional turmoil of loss.
