Important Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative dates and deadlines for instructors

Submitted by Cailin Riley

If you are interested in participating in the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative, there are a few key dates and deadlines for the following academic year.

If you were approved for the course fee or were a grant recipient and intend to use the course fee in spring 2022, submit your course data online by Sept. 3. Course data for summer/fall 2022 is due by Feb. 4, 2022. Course data for summer or fall 2022 courses can be submitted using our online form.

Please note that if you are unable to submit your data by the deadline, you will not be able to use the fee that semester.

If you are interested in adding the course fee to your class, you can apply online.

Upcoming reviews for Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grants are Dec. 3, 2021, and April 15, 2022. You can learn more about the initiative and apply for a grant by visiting our website.
