Modern languages department awards scholarships

The modern languages department congratulates its deserving students who have received scholarships this spring. We honor our students and at the same time thank our donors for their generosity and support of our students and the department. Students awarded scholarships this year are pursuing degrees in Chinese, Classical Studies, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.

The department was able to award $50,000 in scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Established scholarships include the Jo Harriett Hofsess Popkins Scholarship, the Kirmser Graduate Student Award, the Margaret E. Beeson Scholarship in Modern Languages, the Credo ut Intelligam Scholarship, the Philippe Dehon Graduate Scholarship, Wilma Johnston and Jean Hollis Modern Language Scholarship, the Ryan Kanost Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship, the Barakah Nelson Memorial Scholarship, the Megan Elizabeth Taylor Memorial Scholarship in Modern Languages, and the Thomas E. Stamey Memorial Scholarship in Modern Languages.
