UPDATE: K-State police to conduct active shooter training May 21-23

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

***This event has been canceled due to rain.***

The Kansas State University Police Department will host an active shooter training from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21-23 at the Manhattan Fire Department's training pad/burn house — weather permitting. Police from the University of Kansas and Pittsburg State University also will participate.

This announcement is for public awareness so it is not interpreted as a real event.

The training will include sounds of gunfire and realistic-looking victims and perpetrators. Officers will use simulation pistols and rifles, which use nonlethal training ammunition.
