UPC accepting donations for Pop-Up Thrift Shop

Submitted by Hannah Ens

The Union Program Council is now accepting gently used men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories in preparation for the upcoming Pop-Up Thrift Shop. In exchange for your items, you may be entered into a drawing to win gift cards during the event.

Donations can be left in the UPC office in Room 54 of the K-State Student Union on the ground floor, or in the donation bin outside the office. Take some time to spring clean and declutter your closet to help the shop have a wider variety of items. Donations are being accepted in advance, but can also be brought on the day of the event, April 3.

Students can swap or select "new to you" items at the free Pop-Up Thrift Shop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Union courtyard. Upcycle a T-shirt into a Twisted Tote to take home all your finds. Bring a shirt from home or use one provided for free. A prize drawing for gift cards will also be featured. After the shop closes, remaining items will be donated to area agencies to support the community.

The Pop-Up Thrift Shop is sponsored by UPC. Twisted Totes is sponsored by the Union Recycling Committee with support from the Green Action Fund. For more information, visit kstateupc.com or call 785-532-6571.
