K-State Engagement Symposium: 'Art of Democracy' call for proposals extended to Feb. 15

Submitted by David Procter

The call for presenters, exhibitors and performers for K-State's 2019 Engagement Symposium "Art of Democracy" is being extended to Friday, Feb. 15.

The symposium, which will take place on Thursday, March 21, will feature cultural arts presentations and dialogues on the state of democracy as practiced and envisioned. Workshops, a participatory forum and keynote presentations by filmmaker Kevin Willmott and choreographer Lynnette Overby are some of the highlights to this diverse campus and community convocation.

The Center for Engagement and Community Development and Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy are seeking contributors who have considered what they do in relationship to democracy-building, however they engage the public, artistically or otherwise.

Contact Donna Schenck-Hamlin at donnash@k-state.edu to learn more about the opportunities for participation.
