Legislative update

Submitted by Sue Peterson

The Kansas Legislature finished turnaround week, the deadline for bills to move out of the original house to the second house, on Feb. 22. Lawmakers are on a break until Feb. 28 and will resume the legislative session on that day. Bills impacting higher education and Kansas State University can be found on the governmental relations website.

The Kansas Legislative Session's first adjournment will be Friday, April 6. The veto session will convene on Thursday, April 26. The 90th day is Friday, May 4.

Please see the weekly updates every Tuesday in K-State Today through the 90th day or final adjournment.

The Office of Governmental Relations also will host Kansas Legislative Review Sessions from noon to 1 p.m. March 2, 16 and 30 in Hale Library's Hemisphere Room. These sessions are open to all faculty, staff and students; feel free to bring a brown-bag lunch.
