KNEA-SP collects more than 1,200 pounds of food for Flint Hills Breadbasket
K-State's Kansas National Education Association Student Program hosted a food drive at Manhattan's Dillons grocery stores and collected 1,239 pounds of nonperishable food for the Flint Hills Breadbasket to help local families in need.
As a continuation of the community project, KNEA-SP also collected monetary donations, clothing and school supplies for USD 383's Families in Transition Closet. The closet provides more than 2,000 homeless children with daily essentials such as shoes, clothing, toiletries and hygiene products to help the students attend class and integrate successfully.
