Sign up for trainings during Records and Information Management Month

This campaign is dedicated to informing professionals about the importance of securing, managing and organizing sensitive work information online.

April is Records and Information Management Month. This campaign is dedicated to informing professionals about the importance of securing, managing and organizing sensitive work information online. Records management topics covered throughout the month will include:

  • How to identify records and non-records.
  • The Use of University Mobile Devices, Personal Devices and Accounts Policy.
  • Email records management FAQ.
  • How to appropriately use generative AI in the workplace.

Danielle Hall, university records manager, will host several records management training sessions throughout the month. Participants will learn best practices for records management, discuss data storage guidelines, email record management guidelines and learn how to participate in the Campus Shred Day event.

Upcoming training sessions:

  • Records Management 101:
    • 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, in Hale Library Room 181 and Zoom. 
    • 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, via Zoom. 
    • 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in Hale Library Room 581 and Zoom. 
  • Records Management and Data Governance Q&A:
    • 10:30 -11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, via Zoom. 
  • Shared Drive Clean-up Training: Upon request. 

Faculty and staff can sign up to attend the training sessions through HRIS self-service. Additional information and best practices can be found on the K-State records management webpage.
