Datta, students present at international conference June 16-20 in Georgia

Saugata Datta, associate professor of geology, presented at the 12th International Conference on Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements, June 16-20, in Athens, Ga.

He was the convener of special symposia, Environmental Biogeochemistry of Arsenic and Controls on Bioavailability, Biotic Interactions and Risk Assessment (Arsenic). He also organized the symposia with colleagues P. Bhattacharya, R. Naidu and J. Bundschuh.

Students Chad Hobson, T. Jade Mohajerin, Karen Johannesson, Ryan Tappero, Anthony Bednar, Kumi Pandya and Datta presented "Low Temperature Geochemistry of Tungsten in Natural Sediments: Predicting Mobility of an Emerging Contaminant."
