K-State renews community partnership with Fort Riley

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Kansas State University renewed the university-to-military community partnership with Fort Riley on July 7.

K-State President Richard Linton and U.S. Army Maj. Gen. John V. Meyer III, the commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, signed a declaration to renew the partnership at Victory Hall on Fort Riley. K-State and Fort Riley have had an ongoing partnership since 2008.

"In its 15th year, this one-of-a-kind institutional partnership with a land-grant university and a U.S. Army warfighting division continues to operate as a major, successful endeavor of great mutual value to each institution, Kansas and the U.S.," said Art DeGroat, director of the K-State Military Affairs Innovation Center. "With this new renewal, we are set to continue a great program that takes care of people, stewards our missions and builds a stronger community between the military and academia."

Both entities will work together to bridge professional education and development, broadening cultural experiences, evidence-based research, and outreach and public service to contribute to a shared sense of community.
