Music education professor presents national webinar on music advocacy

Frederick Burrack, associate professor of music education and chair of graduate studies in music, will present a national webinar for the National Association for Music Education at 7 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Burrack, the advocacy chair for the Kansas Music Educators Association, will present the findings from his statewide survey on the Impact of the current financial challenges on music education programs in Kansas' schools and the development of a statewide advocacy network to address future challenges.

This webinar can be accessed through MENC Groundswell. These findings have been presented to the Southwest Division of Music Educators, Kansas Music Educators Association, the Kansas State High School Activities Association, the Kansas Board of Education and for the Society of Music Teacher Educators national conference in Greensboro, N.C., Sept. 16 with Phillip Payne, assistant professor of music education.
