Pre-Professional Advising Center update

Submitted by Jeannie Brown Leonard

The new Pre-Professional Advising Center, to be housed in the Berney Family Welcome Center, will open in January 2023 rather than this fall.

The delay is linked to supply chain challenges affecting furniture and technology deliveries, as well as the decision to relaunch our search for a center director. We will begin to transition staff when the space is ready to receive visitors. For the fall 2022 semester, our pre-health advisors will continue to be housed in their respective colleges. We are looking forward to establishing residence in the Berney Family Welcome Center and welcoming students and colleagues to that space in time for spring semester.

Student Success will continue to collaborate with the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Health and Human Sciences to ensure current and prospective students receive excellent guidance, enjoy continuity of the advising experience, and learn about our intentions to transition to the new center in January.

Students may schedule appointments with their pre-health advisors via Navigate. Our pre-law advisor position is vacant; we will share information when a new advisor is hired. Students interested in preparing for law school should participate in our fall events and direct questions to pre-law@k-state.edu. Questions related to pre-health or pre-vet may be directed to prehealth@k-state.edu.

Please direct your questions about the status of the Pre-Professional Advising Center to Jeannie Brown Leonard, vice provost for student success, brownleonard@k-state.edu.
