UAS cybersecurity certificate graduate students to present research July 28

Submitted by Randall K. Nichols

Taiwan Theater of Operations 07252022

Students in the COT 684 Fusion Capstone UAS cybersecurity graduate certificate course will present their research on "The probable invasion of Taiwan by China and how it will be accomplished" at 6 p.m. CDT Thursday, July 28, via Zoom. Meeting ID: 253 668 1163 and passcode: CYBERNLZ.

Please mute during the presentation.

Months of hard work and research have been invested in this presentation. It assesses three highly probable military scenarios to determine how a Chinese Invasion of Taiwan could be carried out:

  1. Full-scale air, sea and ground invasion.
  2. Naval blockade.
  3. Coercion and hybrid war.

Through five major fact bases — geological, political, economic, military, and intelligence with UAS/UUVs — and the Ryan-Nichols Risk Analysis, a variety of threats, vulnerabilities, impacts and countermeasures were explored/researched to analyze the risk and likelihood of each scenario. Recommendations on U.S. countermeasures and ways to prevent/prepare for/or delay such attacks are presented.

Each student has 30 minutes to present their findings in just 20 key slides each. The presentation is open sourced and unclassified. All are welcome.
