The search committee announces three finalists to interview for the director of TRIO Student Support Services position and invites the K-State community to attend presentations by each candidate.

  • Eric Thompson, innovation manager at Kansas City Scholars, will interview Monday, July 25. The presentation will be from 1:30-2:15 p.m. in 204-205 Morris Family Multicultural Student Center and Zoom.
  • Valerie Mendoza, director of Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant at Washburn University, will interview  Tuesday, July 26. The presentation will be from 1:30-2:15 p.m. in 204-205 Morris Family Multicultural Student Center and Zoom.
  • Kurtis Griess, founder of TRIO Works, will interview Thursday, July 28. The presentation will be from 1:30-2:15 p.m. in 181 Hale Library and Zoom.

K-Staters are invited to participate in each presentation and Q&A session where candidates will respond to the prompt, "How will your vision and leadership foster a strategic approach to improving outcomes and academic success for TRIO students?"

Search committee co-chairs Monshonda Booker and R.J. Youngblood will moderate. Questions for candidates may be submitted in advance via email to Student Success at studentsuccess@k-state.edu, asked live during each presentation, or through the Zoom chat feature.

The presentations may be accessed through the Vice Provost for Student Success search website at k-state.edu/student-success/about/searches/

Application materials, itinerary, an online feedback survey and recorded presentations for each candidate are also available on that website after entering your K-State eID and password. Feedback surveys will close Aug. 1, and the presentations and materials will be removed from the website at that time.
