KPERS retirement webinars for Tier 1 and 2 members available this week
The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, or KPERS, is offering two webinar opportunities this week for KPERS 1 and KPERS 2 members considering retirement within the next five years.
Those planning to retire within the next 12 months can register for sessions offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14. Those planning to retire within the next two to five years can register for sessions scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, and 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14.
Topics that will be covered include:
- Choosing a retirement date.
- How to calculate your KPERS benefit.
- Required steps in the retirement process.
- Different payment options.
- Taxes.
- Life insurance.
- Working after retirement rules.
