2022 Graduate Council election results

The Graduate School announces the results of the Graduate Council elections. Please take a moment to congratulate those recently elected to the Graduate Council:

College of Technology and Aviation

  • Siny Joseph, associate professor of integrated studies. 

College of Health and Human Sciences

  • Bernadette Olson, instructor of food, nutrition, dietetics, and health. 

College of Veterinary Medicine

  • Matthew Basel, assistant professor of anatomy and physiology. 

Applied Natural Sciences Academic Area

  • Michael Kleinhenz, assistant professor of clinical sciences. 

Basic Natural Sciences Academic Area

  • Paige Adams, teaching associate professor of diagnostic medicine and pathobiology.
  • Joel Spencer, associate professor of geology.

Social Sciences Academic Area

  • Valerie Padilla Carroll, associate professor of social transformation studies.
  • Heather S. Woods, assistant professor in the A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication. 

New members will begin their three-year terms in the fall semester.

The role of the Graduate Council is to shape and advance graduate education at K-State. It is the chief legislative and policy-formulating body of the graduate faculty and its members provide effective leadership in advocating graduate education and scholarship of the highest caliber. Graduate Council members are paramount to moving graduate education forward, to increase and strengthen its visibility in a strategic way.

The Graduate School extends its appreciation to all members of the Graduate Council for their service with special acknowledgement to the following members whose terms ended in May: Patricia Ackerman, Matt Brueseke, Pingping Chen, Raluca Cozma, Melinda Ann Cro, Timothy Durrett, Kutay Guler, Jichul Jang, David Marcus, Lisa Melander, Tareque Nasser, Megan Rolf, J. Scott Smith, Dana Vanlandingham and Bill Zhang.
