K-State LGBTQ events for April

Submitted by Brandon Haddock

The LGBT Resource Center is hosting and sponsoring several events in April. Many of these events will occur in the next two weeks, including the Kansas State LGBTQ+ Leadership Conference, Little Apple Pride, the K-State Drag Show and Lavender Graduation.

The Kansas State LGBTQ+ Leadership Conference runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center. This event offers some great sessions and speakers and is free for all attendees. Stop in for a session or for the day. If you are not able to attend in person, there will be a livestream of the opening, keynote and closing sessions.

View the conference schedule and join as you can.

Little Apple Pride will be Saturday, April 23, at City Park and will include a parade, entertainment and a great time. Celebrate with community at Little Apple Pride and find more information.

The K-State Drag Show is back! The in-person event will be Friday, April 29, at McCain Auditorium. Tickets will be available starting Wednesday, April 27, through the McCain box office, in person or by phone. Find more information about the K-State Drag Show.

Celebrate LGBTQ+ graduates on Sunday, May 1, at the K-State Lavender Graduation. This is a community event, but registration is important. The event begins at 2 p.m. and includes guest speaker Associate Vice President Kathleen Hatch, recognition of LGBTQ scholarship recipients, distinguished alumnus, distinguished faculty and staff, and recognition of undergraduate and graduate students. All graduates from 2020, 2021 and 2022 are welcome to join and be recognized.
