Workshop immerses 20 Kansas teachers in food safety and security at K-State Olathe

Kansas State University Olathe, in partnership with One Health Kansas, is offering a hands-on professional development in-service program on the awareness and understanding of how to teach the science of food safety and security in the classroom.
The program will be June 10-13 at the Olathe campus, 22201 W. Innovation Drive.
Twenty Kansas high school teachers in science -- biology, chemistry, life science and environmental science -- and career and technical education -- agriculture science and biomedical pathways – will be accepted into the workshop.
Each participant will receive a resource kit to duplicate several of the labs presented at the workshop. Kansas participants will receive a $500 stipend to be used for graduate credit or to offset expenses incurred to attend the workshop. Upon successful completion of all required program requirements, participants are eligible for one graduate credit from Kansas State University.
Deadline for application is April 19. All applications will be reviewed and evaluated based upon the information provided in the application and will be notified of their acceptance into the workshop program by April 26.
