Jessica Cait to present Anatomy and Physiology Seminar

Submitted by Gail Eyestone

Jessica Cait, a doctoral student in Georgia Mason's lab in the integrative biology department at the University of Guelph, will present "Conventional laboratory housing increases morbidity and mortality in research rodents: results of a meta-analysis" at the next Anatomy and Physiology Seminar at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, via Zoom.

Cait has a master's from the University of British Columbia in experimental medicine. After working in biomedical research for multiple years, she became disheartened by the treatment of laboratory rodents and motivated to find ways to refine their use. Since joining the Mason lab, her research has focused on the impact of conventional housing on rodent health and well-being.
