Carol Baldwin, extension associate professor, will participate in a free live virtual interview from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, streamed live on the Facebook page of the Flint Hills Discovery Center.

During "Ask an Expert: Living With Wildland Fire," Baldwin will discuss the history and science behind wildland fire. She will explain why fire is critical to the tallgrass prairie ecosystem and how modern fire science changed the way land managers use fire.

Viewers are invited to ask questions in the comment field which will be answered during a live Q&A period at the end of the interview.

Baldwin is extension associate professor and project coordinator of the Great Plains Fire Science Exchange. She has degrees in agriculture and biology and experience in both production agriculture and Extension work.

The event was made possible through support from the Flint Hills Discovery Center Foundation and the Beach Family Foundation.
