Retirement reception to honor engineering professor Don Fenton

Don Fenton, professor in the Alan Levin Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, will be honored with a retirement reception today, Thursday, Aug. 19, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the lower atrium of Engineering Hall. There will be brief remarks at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Fenton joined K-State in 1986 as an associate professor and was promoted to professor in 1992. He served as acting department head for the 1994-1995 academic year and the spring 1998 semester, and department head from fall 2009 to spring 2014.

During his more than 35 years at Kansas State University, he personally developed four mechanical engineering courses, chaired the department's graduate committee during the 1990s and led numerous research projects related to refrigeration and energy conversion systems.
