Biology Ambassadors at their last meeting of the year

The Division of Biology is recognizing the achievements of the inaugural 2020-2021 class of Biology Ambassadors and welcomes the incoming class of 2021-2022.

The Biology Ambassadors are a select group of dedicated undergraduate biology students who volunteer their time and talents recruiting prospective students, mentoring first-year biology students, and representing the Division of Biology at events.

In their first year as an organization, the 2020-2021 class of Biology Ambassadors have accomplished the following: they helped approximately 200 incoming students in summer 2020 by reaching out to provide support and answering questions in peer-to-peer format; they successfully mentored more than 50 first-year biology students during the fall semester; they created and maintained a Division of Biology Instagram account; they led breakout sessions during the second annual BioBonanza, an event highlighting research and other extracurricular activities biology students can get involved in; they assisted more than 120 first-year students in BIOL 100 Orientation in Biology with degree planning in fall 2020; they designed and helped run biology's Open House 2021 activities, including five live events, two prerecorded activities for kids, and developing a professional tour of Ackert Hall video produced by the Division of Communications and Marketing; and they participated in more than 35 tours and recruitment events throughout the school year.
