2020 W-2 forms available through State of Kansas Employee Self Service

Submitted by Human Capital Services

The 2020 W-2 forms are now available through the State of Kansas Employee Self Service. Employees who previously consented to receive their W-2 electronically may now access their forms. View the PDF instructions on logging in, viewing and printing W-2s.

Employees who have not yet consented to receive their W-2 information electronically through the State of Kansas ESS may still do so by following the instructions provided in the link above. Employees only need to consent once and the consent remains in effect until it is withdrawn, or upon retirement, termination or death. The W-2 form — and up to five years of prior W-2 forms — will be available immediately in State of Kansas ESS once the consent is completed.

New this year is that first-time users will find the information needed for logging into the State of Kansas Employee Self Service by logging into their HRIS Self Service first. In the past, first-time users had to call Human Capital Services for this information. Instructions have now been made available in HRIS via Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > W2 State of Kansas Consent and Access. Employees may review the password login information, then click the link that takes them to the state site.

Paper forms will be mailed later in January for employees who have not consented to the electronic form.

Please contact the HCS Resource Center and Operations at 785-532-1888 with questions.
