Division of Facilities personnel update

Submitted by Lori Hayden

K-State Assistant Vice President for Facilities Casey Lauer has appointed Tim Brunner as acting director of building maintenance for the Division of Facilities.

Brunner’s acting appointment takes effect on Jan. 10, where he will lead, supervise and direct maintenance activities for all physical infrastructure on the main campus, in addition to his permanent responsibilities where he oversees the physical utility infrastructure, including the operation of the campus steam and chilled water plants.

Brunner joined K-State Facilities in 2014 and has held various and increasingly progressive leadership roles in the Division of Facilities.

"Tim is known and respected for being a team player who has a demonstrated track record of accomplishment as well as being a highly motivated self-starter," Lauer said.

A search for the permanent maintenance director position will begin in January and is expected to be filled by May 2021. Members of the search committee include Lauer; Mandy Cole, assistant vice president of strategic operations; Chris Culbertson, associate dean/professor in the College of Arts and Sciences; Ryan Zecha program/project manager in the Carl R Ice College of Engineering; and Oscar Ruiz, associate director of the K-State Police Department.
