Groundwork of geology faculty published by GSA Today

Submitted by Behzad Ghanbarian

Behzad Ghanbarian, assistant professor of engineering geology, and colleagues have recently been published in GSA Today, a journal of the Geological Society of America. Their research is titled "Predicting the Water Balance from Optimization of Plant Productivity."

Through a collaboration with a physicist at Wright State University and an earth scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Ghanbarian was able to theoretically predict the water balance from the optimization of plant productivity.
