Legislative Update

Submitted by Sue Peterson

The Kansas Legislature will convene in special session beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 3. Gov. Laura Kelly issued a proclamation May 26 calling for the special session.

Once the Legislature convenes in special session, the legislative agenda is determined by the Legislature. View the Kansas Revisor of Statutes memo on special sessions.

A listing of legislation will be available on the K-State Office of Governmental Relations website. Legislation introduced in the 2019 and 2020 Legislative Sessions, not passed by the legislature and enacted into law will be dead following final adjournment on May 21.

For information and questions regarding the 2020 Legislature or the 2020 special session, contact Sue Peterson at skp@k-state.edu, or the Office of Government Relations at kstategr@k-state.edu. Phones will be answered at 785-532-6227.
