Mike Wiegers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering students receive awards

The Mike Wiegers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recognizes its outstanding student award recipients for 2019-2020.

Recipients are chosen by their peers and faculty in the department and are typically presented at the annual ECE Awards Banquet with students, their families, faculty and staff in attendance. In addition to the outstanding student awards there are three additional senior awards.

The Leadership Award is given to a graduating senior who has exhibited excellence in leadership; recognized for their contributions to the campus, college, program and professional organizations. The Service Award is given to a graduating senior who has made exemplary contributions that impact the well-being of the community or individuals in the community. The outstanding Research Award is given to a graduating senior whose research has made a significant contribution to his or her field of study.

Senior awards: Isaiah Garrett, Lawrence, Leadership Award; Trey Schmidt, Wamego, Service Award; and Xuebo Liu, Miaolingcun, China, Research Award.

Junior award recipients: Amy Howard, Clarksville, Maryland, computer engineering; and Parker Lange, Moundridge, electrical engineering. 

Sophomore award recipients: Kelsey Warren, St. George, biomedical engineering; Caden Churchman, St. George, computer engineering; and Hayden Dillavou, Overland Park, electrical engineering. 

Freshman award recipients: Drake Butler, Raymore, Missouri, biomedical engineering; Ben Madrigal, Liberty, Missouri, computer engineering; and Aurora Gray, Lansing, electrical engineering.
