Writing Center Online Tutoring for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Submitted by Karin Westman

To continue writing tutoring for K-State students during remote teaching and learning, the Writing Center has expanded its online tutoring options.

The center is now offering online writing tutoring in two forms:

  • Asynchronous eTutoring Sessions

The Writing Center's "Get Written Feedback" schedule allows student writers to submit their writing and receive written feedback from a writing consultant within 48 hours. Sessions are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, so that feedback can be delivered to writers within the school week. Consultants will respond to issues of clarity, organization and development of content.

  • Synchronous Online Video Sessions

The center's "Live Video Tutoring" schedule allows student writers with the technology to support video conferencing — computer, tablet, or phone with camera and speaker/microphone — to upload their document and meet with a writing consultant online in a 30-45 minute video chat.

All writing tutoring sessions are by appointment and can be scheduled through the English department's Writing Center website.

The Writing Center at Kansas State University is sponsored by the Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences and by SGA through SCTE funding.
