Performance of Young Jo Lee's "Dear Mummy and Sister" at the 2020 Composition in Asia Symposium and Festival

Craig B. Parker, associate professor of music history in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, was a featured performer at the third Composition in Asia Symposium and Festival at the University of South Florida in Tampa, hosted Jan. 30 through Feb. 2.

Performing on four different concerts, Parker played works featuring trumpet by HyeKyung Lee, with the composer as pianist; and Young Jo Lee, with soprano Jumi Lee and pianist E. J. Choe; as well as Texu Kim's "Take 13" for trumpet and electronics. Parker also presented his paper, "Indian Elements in the Compositions of Alan Hovhaness," at this symposium on Feb. 2.  

This international event featured presenters from Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and the U.S.
